Functionalized graphene nanoplatelets from ball milling ...

Ball milling is a simple but efficient approach for producing edge-functionalized graphene nanoplatelets. In a typical experiment, graphite powders are mixed with chemicals containing heteroatoms (e.g. dry ice [ 14 ], sulfur xide [ 15 ], melamine [ 16, 17 ], polystyrene [ 18 ]) in a sealed jar, followed by high speed ball milling.

Exfoliation of graphite by dry ball milling with cellulose ...

Dry ball milling of graphite with cellulose and related polysaccharides was found effective for exfoliation-dispersion of graphene-like carbon. The exfoliation behavior was found to depend strongly on the polymer species; namely, polysaccharides are much more effective than thermoplastic polymers. The compression-molded slabs from co-milled powder with cellulose and carboxymethylcellulose ...

Preparation of Ultrafine Nickel Powder by High-energy Ball ...

The influences of milling time and process control agents on the preparation of ultrafine nickel powder were studied systematically by granularity test,SEM and XRD.The results show that: with increasing milling time, the nickel powder particle size decreases rapidly at first and then the particle size changes slightly, the nickel powder can milling effectively by adding process control agent KH ...

The MgB 2 tape with the ball-milling treatment exhibited a dense and uniform microstructure mainly composed of nano-crystalline MgB 2 . On the other hand, MgB2 tapes without the ball-milling treatment showed inhomogeneous microstructures that comprise of a porous uncrystallized area and a crystallized one.

Experimental and modeling investigations of ball-milled ...

As shown in Fig. 1, ball milling effectively increased adsorption capacity from 5–15 mg/g for unmilled biochars to 100–300 mg/g for BM–biochars (about a 20-fold increase) regardless of different feedstock type and pyrolysis temperature. Both biochar feedstock type and pyrolysis temperature showed strong influence on capacity. For the same feedstock, removal increased in the order ...
