The new company was to build a fertilizer plant at the Al-Abiad phosphate rock mine. The production capacity of the plant was expected to be 132,000 metric tons per year (t/yr) of sulfuric acid, 80,000 t/yr of potassium sulfate, 65,000 t/yr of triple superphosphate, 55,000 t/yr of calcium chloride, and 15,000 t/yr of diammonium phosphate.
